Please join the Upstate Council of the SC Immigrant Victim Coalition and guest speakers, Cindy Huang and Criss Cuervo, for a timely conversation on Self-Care in the Immigrant Community and how we can promote culturally appropriate approaches to clients and families experiencing trauma.

About The Event
Self-Care is often talked about, but how are we prioritizing this to avoid secondary trauma, burnout and compassion fatigue? How do we promote self-care in immigrant communities, where this concept may be foreign to them? Please join the Upstate IVC team and their guests in exploring this topic and sharing ways we put our mental, physical and emotional health first.

Criss co-authored a paper titled “Building a more Diverse and Inclusive Science: Mindfulness-based Approaches for Latinx Individuals” which was published in the Mindfulness Journal. Her most recent certification is a Mindfulness Mentor Training with Cloud Sangha.
The SCIVC is a network of professionals, advocates, law enforcement, attorneys, health care providers and community leaders dedicated to ensuring access to services and justice for immigrants. Our meetings are always free to attend and open to all. We welcome all to our table!
